Adding Serial Number to .MST

Hi I am Newbie, so please help me in solving this. Created a mst for vendor msi using orca , as creating mst using install tailor in wise 7 giving some errors like 2732/2731. everything is fine with expected behavior with qf switch but not with qb or qn , saying invalid serial number. so, checked for the serial number in the mst and it is`nt there, so tried to create a row in property table . at first it worked but later the key is getting deleted and i tried adding serial number again and again but its not saving it. So, please can someobody help me in adding the serial number in the MST.

Thanks a lot.

as for why the install might be behaving differently with the qf switch as opposed to qb or qn, there might be a Custom Action in the InstallUISequence for resolving the serial number that is not present in the InstallExecuteSequence.

This means the action will only execute when the installer is running with UI, so you should look for an action like this and copy it into the InstallExecute sequence.

Is this property of serial number in SecureCustomProperties Property.

If yes, then you need to delete it from there and then try again from commandline.

You can use a property  in commandline as well if it is not saving in MST. Just like ALLUSERS=1 on commandline you can use SERIALNUMBER=XYZ (Whatever property is there) and it should work for you.
