Zenworks and vendor .MSI problem - Rights won't elevate
Hi everyone.
We run a W2K desktop with Power users not having the ability to make directories or create files in C:\Program Files. Policy is that new apps get installed to C:\Apps. Works for the most part.
I have a vendor msi that wants to installed some shared borland database stuff to C:\Program Files.
We are running Zenworks 4. Now, it is supposed to evelate rights while distributing the application, but this does not work. It works fine for Novell snapshot applications (if they dump something in C:\Program Files it actually does work) but not for .MSI's.
Any ideas how to get around this?

I'd talk directly with Novell. ZEN 4 has some interesting issues with MSI. I have not seen your specific issue but I have seen where ZEN will elevate for install but then the MSI cannot self repair elevated once it is installed. Your issue might be very specific to what version of the agent you are running.
