WPS 5.1 creating transforms error

Hi All,

I'm using Wise Package Studio 5.1 Standard Edition, and I must say I've found it terrible to create transforms from vendors MSI's with - I've had to use Installshield for pretty much everything that Autodesk has released because of various errors to do with not being able to locate merge modules in the vendors msi etc. But this time I'd like to think Wise can do the job...

I'm creating an MSI for a vendors very simple looking package, but I get the following error:

"Could not create Transform Summary Info" - Wise knowledge base turned up zip, google turned up zip, so I'm hoping its something simple and I'm hoping I don't have to always rely on Installshield seeing as everyone bags it out and loves Wise.

Any ideas?

Rgds

Paul

Hey Paul,

I'm packaging Autodesk Inventor 9 at the moment, and I've gotta say I'm having the exact same problems with Wise 5.51 when I try and edit the transform created witgh the NIW.

My only work around is to open it with Orca and edit that way. I'm not as fortunate to have Installshield as well!

If you find a way around this let me know,

Cheers,

Dave

I have found that I can't save changes to any Autodesk MST files. I have heard that this is because AutoDesk apps don't meet all the Microsoft standards - I don't know if this is true.
I have found that the only way to edit them is using Orca or I have been told that the Microsoft Office Customization wizard may also do the job.
I haven't come accross any other apps that I could use Wise to edit or create the Transforms.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
