Windows 7 SP1 deploy issues

Is anyone else having issues with deploying an image with windows 7 SP1 installed? I have tried a few times now and once the machine boots up after pulling the image I get hundreds and hundreds of explorer.exe windows on the desktop.

All I have done is to image a box with our working Win 7 image, install all the updates, sysprep in oobe/shutdown, upload the new image to the kbox. This is x86 Enterprise edition if that makes any difference.

Did the system you sysprepped already have the kbox agent installed on it? Are you adding the kbox agent as a post-install task? It sounds like the classic winlogon problem which is typically caused by either a faulty agent installation.

Check the registry setting mentioned in this article: http://www.kace.com/support/kb/index.php?action=artikel&cat=2&id=662&artlang=en

The article only mentions My Documents, but I have seen it do the same thing with explorer if the registry has incorrect information.

I would check the original sysprep image before any post install tasks are ran and see if it has the kace agent installed. If so it will need to be removed and re-sysprepped. Or you can follow the instructions on how to sysprep a machine that already has the agent installed:
