  • The first link cannot be found. I think the second link provides a very comprehensive explanation so what exactly are you unclear on?
  • Below is the first link

    https://products.office.com/en-us/business/compare-more-office-365-for-business-plans
  • In first link, it(office 365 proplus) is showing as one of plans. In second link it is showing as it is a local install feature which is there in many plans. So that is the clarification required.
  • Office 365 is subscription-based. The files are installed locally and the license checked online.

Are you thinking of Office Web apps?
  • No, my query is about Office 365 proplus.
In the first link provided by me it is mentioned that proplus is one of the plans available to subscribe.
But in the 2nd link it is shown that proplus is full installation of office which will come with many of the plans mentioned.

    First link:

    Second link:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg702619.aspx

My doubt is whether it is a plan or feature available in the plans.
  • proplus adds Access and Lync. Office 365 is a licensing model, not a version or edition. BOTH have the ability to install it locally also use the web based apps, for when you don't have your own device.

The ProPlan comes with both an online and local version of Office. If you use the local version office will install a subscription tool on each PC. Each user should have a username and password to accompany their subscription. If the user does not activate the subscription after being asked for it 5 times the local software locks into a view only mode, until a valid id is entered.

Users can opt to use the online version too. This is usually handy if the users are away from their normal PC.
