Whats does Cleanup.vbs or Kcleanup.exe do?

I am not sure if these clean ups are running correctly. Can someone explain what these clean ups actually do?

  • Cleanup.vbs and Kcleanup.exe is the scripts and processes K2000 uses to cleanup after the scripted install. I know these files will remove any folders/files that are needed and copied to the local hdd during the imaging process. I believe one of them will self clean and neither should be left behind once complete. - jboling 7 years ago

JBoling's comment is correct, it cleans up after the imaging process is completed for either scripted install or image. There are several things that creates issues for the cleanup scripts, GPO's can affect them from running successfully. Also if anti-virus is enabled on the system this can cause the script to take much longer than expected.

Cleaning/clearing the temporary folder and updating some registry settings should be completed in just a couple of minutes usually.

  • Are one the folders that it cleans up C:\Kace\Applications? This is were the Post Install are copied to during a scripted install? - Jkimberlin 7 years ago
    • Correct, the C:\KACE folder is one that is cleared. - TheAustinDave 7 years ago
      • Thanks, looks like I will need to check see if the Anti-Virus is blocking the .vbs script. - Jkimberlin 7 years ago
