What happens if I change my kbox name and/or domain?
We are running our kbox in an environment where the internal domain is the same as the registered domain name. I'd like to change our internal domain name which would change the domain that our Kbox is in(ie xzyabc.xyz to xyzabc.xyz.local). My concern is that I have 3000 systems out there with the amp agent on them they report to the current kbox on the current domain.
Question, how can I change all amp agent systems so they report to the new machine/domain name or will the change on their own somehow ???
Thanks in advance
Drew

I wasn't as clear as I should have been. I have a majority of mac and linux system. Windows systems make up about 5% of my workstations - adumbrell 10 years ago

Use a GPO which runs the following command on all systems:
c:\program files(x86)\dell\kace\amptools.exe -resetconf host=NEWHOST
This will delete the old configuration of the agent and setup a new one with the correct hostname. It will get all other informations out of the box correctly. (SSL or unencrypted etc)
If you want to keep debug enabled, you should also run amptools.exe debug=detail (and similar if you want to have other configs)
You may alternatively set a DNS alias from the old to the new name.
