I like the Windows 2000 Scripting guide from Microsoft Press. Well written with tons of good examples.

My view is that there's nothing like getting straight into it, with some examples.

Always remember that, if you use embedded VBScript, you cannot use the 'WScript' directive as in, for example, 'WScript.Echo' or 'WScript.Quit'.

There was a site, one I used extensively in the past, missing from my post because the page mail.khaldounbaz.info/vbscript.asp is no longer there. In searching for a Group Policy solution, I came across this http://www.cruto.com/resources/vbscript/vbscript-examples/vbscript-sitemap.asp. Now, the list of script contained in this latter site looks *IDENTICAL* to Khaldoun's: I can't know who copied who, but at least there's a further set of scripts with some great functionality for you to look at.
