Unknown error at deployment

I'm trying to install the KACE application on a computer via KACE so I can add it to the inventory and such but I get an unknown error at step 3 (PUSH SCRIPT\ PROVISIONING.)Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks

I find that deploying via Group policy is simplest method of deploying the agent. You don't have to mess with any firewalls or file sharing settings etc. it is really simple with 5.3.X

Make sure User Account Control is off on the target machine. If it's on, you will need to turn it off and reboot. Network Discovery and File Sharing needs to be enabled as well. Also double check that the account you are using in your provisioning setup has administrative rights on the target computer.

  • I would recommend trying to manually install the agent. It's located in "\\kbox_server_name\client\agent_provisioning\windows_platform" to avoid going through the hassle of disabling UAC and turning it back on to do a remote deployment. - vacuna 12 years ago

I've got to agree with Jonathon, GPO is deffinately the easiest way to deploy it. Remember when you deploy via GPO you can also set the server name from the name of the file so its nice and easy. There's a kace kb article on this I believe.
We've run into the 'Unknown error' at the same location in the past. If its a machine that already had the client on there we found deleting the folders for it and re-deploying worked okay.
