Uninstalling a patch - problem

Hi,
I have created a patch/fix for an application. this patch installs a newer version of a file and a couple of new files.
When I try to remove the patch the new files are removed but the newer version of the file remains behind. I want this file to revert to it's original state and not remain as the newer version of the file. What can I do?
Rgds,
Mark

Windows Installer packages are all the same: they will only remove what they installed. If you want to restore an older version of a file, then you'll need to add a Custom Action to make a copy of the file (or files) you're replacing and record their names (and possibly other data, like version number and so on) somewhere at install-time and another CA to restore the appropriate file at uninstall time.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
