Symantec to Acquire Altiris
CUPERTINO, Calif. – Jan. 29, 2007 – Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Altiris, Inc. Too bad...Symantec is where good programs go to die. Authough, maybe they will ditch LiveState, and keep Altiris just as it is...

I am at an Altiris User Group meeting right now. No real details, but they did say that they would be retaining all (or most) senior management to operate Altiris as a separate business unit within Symantec. Looking at about June before the deal goes is expected to go through.
