Secure sys files in appdata
G'Day All,
I have 2 files that are created in the appdata\SecuROM\UserData folder that are created when launching the application.
ÃõóÃ…ÂÿýïÆÇïÀÃÂôñÄñÃõóÃÂ…
Unfortunately I can't copy these files to include in my package "cannot read from source file or disk". I've tried using dos to identify the files which have attribs RSH and resist being changed or anything else.
The app won't launch if a snapshot is in progress or ProcMon running. Because we have appdata redirected for users the app won't launch. If the redirection is deactivated the app will launch as expected. The app is Pearson Longman New Cutting Edge Digital.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
TIA
Wayne

Thanks Nick,
Really interesting article.
Yep, it is off a DVD, just a presentation software that interacts with a whiteboard. Requires admin of coarse and doesn't handle the redirection at all.
I'll try to talk them out of it, or just give them a local pc account blocked from the network. Doesn't look to hopeful anyway. Going to scare them, I think if I mention "root kit" which should persuade the customer to look for another option.
Thanks again,
All the best,
Wayne
PS. When I've got some time (kindof short staffed at the moment) I'll add to the KB's on Adpbe Production Premium. We've pulled it apart, configured it and deployed the sucker.
