Seems that the ActiveX component isn't installed on the 2k client or parts of it.
Verify that there's no condition set to the component holding the ActiveX resources.

Go to the component table and find the component holding the ActiveX resources.
There may be multiple components holding connected with the ActiveX component split up for files/registry/advertising info.
See if the condition column has any value for these components.

Also look in the Condition table if conditions are set on feature level.

Try using Regmon from SysInternals www.sysinternals.com. This will help identify what is missing...

Hey all .. Ive got a similar problem .. but on windows XP .. at a start up i get that message Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object and also when i try to open that application .. I reinstalled the windows, so maybe thats the reason, maybe one of the components are missing :( I cant really re-install this program .. it will be a real hassle!
Can anyone help me plz or tell me what to do?

Funnly enough, i have a similar problem too. But it only happens when they click on the help file the Active X error appears. The Main App works fine, it just the help file, but when you click on Cancel, the help file still works.

I think it was due to me stripping out some things from the MSI that caused it.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
