You ran 'setup.exe /s' manually or via some deployment software?

Keep in mind that in order for 'setup.exe /s' to work with a response file, you're writing the setup.log to the same directory as setup.exe, thus you'll need write access to it.

The bottom line is that 95% of the time (assuming that your .iss file is properly created), adding the /f2 command to your command line and pointing the log file locally fixes the problem.

Make sure none of your files are Read Only.

Make sure that the ID you are using has the appropriate right.

What does your log say? If the install failed, the log should give you an error code.

Apparently your setup.iss isn't complete. Unfortunately .iss files do not always work.
Not every programmer designed their setup to fully support silent installations.
I for example just had a .iss file where I got error -12, wrong order of windows...

BUT just for the sake of having tried everything you did check using setup.exe /s /f1"path\to\setup.iss"?

1.When should we need to create response file& what is the use of it.

2.How to create a response file?
