From time to time we have undefinable redirect loops for our KACE web gui. We have a standardized hostname for our K1000 (SVRDEKACE01) and a CNAME "kace" which points to this hostname.

Sometime we try to open http://kace/admin only Firefox throws a redirect loop errormessage.

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete"

We don´t see any entries in the K1000 logfiles.

Does anybody have the same problem and at the best fixed this error

  • Yes tried this, and also read this page but didn´t figure out what the problem is.
  • What version are you on? I am on the latest 5.5 and applied the Dec 2 patch (recalled) and ran into this. Support fixed me up.
  • yes, we've also installed this latest cumulative patch from Dec. 2. What does the support do, to fix it on your site?
  • delete the cname and add a second hostname "kace" that goes to the same ip address
  • Alternatively, make sure that the CNAME redirects to the fully qualified domain name.

Make sure that the CNAME redirects to the fully qualified domain name of SVRDEKACE01.

Alternatively, delete the CNAME record and create a new host A static record for "kace".
