Can someone please advice what rights the R1 user have when they connect to the Kbox DB?
I don't want to give this account to users if they can damage the DB.

Read-only.
Why would you give this info to users? And you can still cause problems with the KBOX using read-only access... If someone builds a nasty nested query, you can basically do a DoS attack against yourselves by simply running a read-only query.
