How can I verify that KACE has successfully deployed Microsoft patches to a PC?  When status indicates its completed, the PC is rebooted.  But in "Installed Updates" I do not see any recently installed updates.

  • What does it say under Patching Detect/Deploy status? If you are looking at the "Patches Reported Installed in Software Inventory" section that might not get updated until the machines runs another inventory.
  • On the KACE patch schedule is says completed. But in Windows, under Windows Updates/Installed Updates, it doesn't show than any newer updates were installed.
  • Have you Subscribed to the updates?
Check under - Security > Patch Management > Subscriptions

Make sure all of your Operating Systems in your environment that you are wanting to patch are displayed under "Subscription" and that "Activate New Patches" is checked.

If you choose to patch non-windows applications you can choose the types you would like under "Application Patches", I would suggest steering clear of the "Software Installer" option under Types.

I would also suggest watching one of the KKE video's on patching.
  • Yes I have done all that. I guess what I'm asking is do I just assume the patching was successful just because KACE says it is? If I get on my Windows 7 laptop and go to Start/All Programs/Windows Updates/View Update History, it shows 4//16/2015 as the date of the last installed updates. I guess I'll have to call into KACE Support. I've done everything the setup said to do.
