Package an Excisting MSI

Hi,
I captured an application using wise5.6 which already has an MSI and corresponding files in the folder. When i try to install the captured MSI while invoking the MSI it looks for the old MSI path and the application dosent opens[&:][>:].

I can't use the existing MSI since the files are lying outside the MSI and the dialogues are not proper too[:(].

Is there any method to package an MSI and the files lying outside in a combined one single compresseed MSI. please help me in this regard.[:D]

If you really have to repackage a already packaged MSI, I suggest you to try make an Administrative installation (msiexec /a msifile.msi) and add the files and the outside files to a new, empty, project.

Isn´t it possible to add the outside files into the original MSI-package?

If you absolutely have to capture a vendor MSI and are fully aware of all the risks) then one technique that I have successfully used is to run MSIZAP.exe during my capture i.e. Run before snapshot, install MSI, run MSIZAP against the product code of your MSI package, run after snapshot.

This will erase all of the MSI meta data from the capture.
