On your Portuguese MUI pack, find and copy this folder "Proof.pt" and create an MST for "Proof.msi". Go to InstallExecuteSequence table and drop or make the CA "AbortMsi" not to run.

You should be able to install now the proofing tools only for Portuguese (Portugal). Hope this help.

The Office 2010 Multi-Language Pack contains all of the Office 2010 Language Packs. Individual Office 2010 Language Packs, the Office 2010 Multi-Language Pack, and Office 2010 Proofing Tools Kit are available through Microsoft Volume Licensing programs.

Thanks JB. I have just realized that it could be inside their volume licensing programs. We don´t have it and don´t have any plans for it. I wonder if someone has actually stripped out the proofing tool kit inside of it and posted somewhere.. [;)]

I will just stick to the workaround I made on the MSI of Portuguese proofing tools and so far, no issue found.

Could you please share how you managed to extract and modify the proofing tools from the Portuguese MUI to get the proofing tools to install successfully? I gave it a shot once and was unsuccessful.

I did as you suggest in this post, and the MSI installs successfully. However, when I open up Word, the Portuguese proofing tools are not available to me in Word. Is there anything else you did to make the proofing tools available in Office besides installing the MSI and the Transform that modifies it?

How did you manage to install the proofing tools for portuguese? I was able to achieve it by putting the folder, Proof.pt inside the folder of Proofing.es-es which is a MUI pack for Spanish in my case. By default, the proofing toolkit for Spanish comes with Portuguese (Brazil).

Then I kicked in 2 installations. First for my Proofing toolkit of Portuguese (Portugal) and secondly, for the installation of Spanish MUI pack. I later tested with a native Portuguese and was working without problems. Hope this help.
