Are you sure the shortcut isn't included in your package?
Verify that the component (GUID/ComponentId) holding this shortcut from the other application isn't also included in your package, this could happen if the share component bit isn't set.

i havenot done package,actually the source media is behaving like this.so i need to resolve this.

hi,
i am trying to uninstall my application but while uninstalling it is removing shortcuts of another application in desktop of allusers profile..it should not happen.
please let me know any solution.


Are the two apps from the same manufacterer or is the 2nd app (the app having the shortcuts wrongfully) removed a totally different product ? I ask because I wonder if the 2nd app is initially a nested install (installing as a pre-requisite and then being removed) at the time of the main app install/remove. Not a solution but may point you towards the cause. Have a look in the sequence table to see if this is the case?
