New to Scripting and minor knowledge of Visual Basic

I am looking for some good cheap (preferably free) resources for generating my own scripts and deployable tools. I started with the Kace K1000 and K2000 approximately 3 months ago and I am trying to access the full potential of the system. The problem is I am seeing all of these articles about scripts and VB items and I am not fully aware of what their function is. I learn best by getting my hands dirty but this is not something that I can just dive into and expect to figure it all out on my own. Any help with resources or guides would be greatly appreciated. I grew up with an understanding that if I can figure out how it is supposed to work then I can figure out why its broke. Thanks for all the help.

  • Here are a few of the sites I refer to if stuck, or looking for something I haven't done before. They are at the very least good starting points. I am sure others will post some more links for you.

    Scripting Guys Forums - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/scriptcenter/en-US/home?forum=ITCG

    Windows Scripting Forums - http://www.windowsscript.com/forums/

    VB Forums -
    http://www.vbforums.com/forum.php

Ask here - A lot of us write scripts daily, and many here are very helpful. If you explain thoroughly what it is you're looking for the script to do it makes it easier for us to guide you. - KHaught 9 years ago
  • I will definitely keep the last part in mind. We are just getting things going with our system and I try to have a good knowledge to work from in case I run into an issue that I need to fix asap. Thank you for all of the information and support. - maveric20001 9 years ago
