Nero is a turd of an app. It's a whole bunch of MSIs which make up a useless suite of apps which most people don't need to burn DVDs.

You are better off using the vendor legacy setup routine - which is also a turd.

For example with Nero 9.4: Setupx.exe /qb SX SOURCEPATH=""C:\Program Files\Nero\Install_files\"" CONFIGPATH=""C:\Program Files\Nero\Install_files\"" SERIALNUMBER=""a1a1-a1a1-a1a1-a1a1-a1a1-a1a1-a1a1-a1a1"" REBOOT=""REALLYSUPPRESS"" EULAACCEPTED=""1"" EXCLUDEAPP=""unit_hlp_71,unit_hlp_74,unit_hlp_75,unit_app_15"""

Top tip though, make sure you have the correct source media to start with or you'll waste a whole lot of time - trust me I know [8|]

Cheers,
Rob.

I recommened CDBurnerXP over Nero any day of the week. No fluff, it does exactly what it says on the tin. IIRC, it comes in (well-behaved) MSI form, too.

Can you do it through the GUI?

If so you should be able to do it via there crappy silent setup switche/s... but I wouln't bet on it.

Good luck.

Kind of odd that you've been requested to change the standard install folder.

Perhaps you should simply 'educate' the requestor that this is not possible....?

What ever you do - do not offer or attempt to repackage the installation into an MSI [&:]
