Need help migrating to Office 2013

We are currently starting to migrate systems to Office 2013 from Office 2010. we would like to do a push through our K1000 but we need to keep user settings like building blocks, file locations, signatures, and quick access toolbar, and yes these settings can be different for every user. We are not familiar with any of the USMT or OCT tools.... we need something easy and flexible.

Any help or suggestions are welcome!

  • most of the settings you have mentioned (except file locations) are file based, in the users profile and not specific to an office version (like most settings in the registry) do a few test installs with known modifications and see if they remain. If you rebuild a machine (upgrade the HW) you will need to back up the files. - Badger 9 years ago
  • << file locations >> If by that you mean things like the default locations for templates, I seem to recall that these can be controlled by Group Policy. - anonymous_9363 9 years ago
  • If you are going to reimage the machines or provide new ones as part of the process, you could temporarily make all the user profiles roaming profiles. - kalucas 9 years ago
