msi validation question

I am attempting to repackage an application using Wise 7.0 Std and receive errors like below:

Not a valid foreign key; Table: Directory, Column: Directory_Parent, Key(s): TemplateFolder.D111DFDB_5330_4306_87CB_DB4E9B0A9B90 ice03.html Directory Directory_Parent TemplateFolder.D111DFDB_5330_4306_87CB_DB4E9B0A9B90
Evaluation: ICE03

When I view the Directory table via Setup Editor I don't see the TemplateFolder.D111DFDB_5330_4306_87CB_DB4E9B0A9B90 entry, however if I view in Orca I do? Is this a known fault with Wise?

Dodgy- check the MSI which you have compiled from your WSI. Sounds like that entry is coming from a merge module.... Merge Module entries (files, directories, components etc etc) get built into your MSI at compile time, and don't exist in the WSI.

Cap,

Thanks for the reply. I understand - me being an idiot.

I'm using a couple of merge modules for jet, dao and oleaut32 i got from http://www.installsite.org/pages/en/msi/msm.htm will have a look through those.

Thanks

I wouldn't bother. You won't get rid of those "errors" because they're not errors. Ignore anything flagged as an error which appears as a result of MM-sourced entries.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
