Modify existing GPO for agent provisioning
Is it possible to modify an existing GPO settings using the GPO Provisioning Tool? I'm trying to deploy the latest agent version, but I can't seem to change the .msi file name in the current settings, and without the admx and adml files in policy definitions I'm not able to edit from GPMC; the settings just display as Extra Registry Settings.
I would simply delete the GPO and make a new one, but I have other settings in that particular GPO that I wouldn't want to have to recreate. A hard lesson in best practices :)
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

From what I've seen in using the GPO tool, it will only create a GPO. I've tried modifying the created GPO for a new agent version without success; it just doesn't run anymore. So now, with every new agent version, I create a new GPO and delete the old one.
Maybe not the most efficient method, and obviously I'm not a Group Policy expert, but it's the cleanest for me.

Yeah I had a feeling the tool wouldn't be able to remove the GPO settings, just needed the confirmation my suspicions were correct. Thank you for the input! - LlamaFace 5 years ago
I think I figured out a sort of work around. I used the Provisioning Tool to select the GPO and just ran through the steps. Inputting the distribution path and clicking next updated the files and the old settings were overwritten with the new file name.
I would still like to remove the provisioning settings from this GPO and put them in a GPO of their own. Any thoughts?
