Lumension... er HEAT... er ivanti... and a zero day...
In previous versions of the K1000's documentation (or maybe Lumension's) it was stated what the time line was for releasing tested security patches for zero days. I've had no luck finding this information on Quest's or ivanti's sites. All they say is 'Tuesday'. When it was Lumension I recall the standard turn around time was something like 48 hours for a tested security update and something else for zero days... I just can't recall. And shouldn't have to... What happens if a zero day comes out on Wednesday? Can we rely on the K1000's security detect and deploy or do we have to create our own managed installation of zero day patches for such scenarios? Has anyone had better luck than me at finding this information?

We likewise do managed installs for zero days. By the time you wait for the detect job, then the scheduled deploy job, then wait for KACE to actually getting around to applying that particular patch based on its own internal queuing process, then possibly another round of detect/deploy, you're better off doing zero days manually, as infrequently as they pop-up.
