We are looking at using LanDesk Process Manager Module (only, not the whole landesk suite) to automate our software install flow. We want it to take a software request form from the user which will be in xml and do the following:
1. Communicate with Remedy where our software licenses are tracked for availability and if available assign the software license to the asset (computer)
2. Communicate with SMS and/or Active Directory to assign the pc to the correct group for the software to be deployed
3. Communicate with the user via email, software is available and will be deployed or else software is unavailable and will need to be ordered

I'm keeping this very general to see if anyone else has had any experience with this type of need and environment. If so what was your experience? Did Landesk process manager module do they said it would do?

[font="trebuchet ms"]Yes all this is possible and is a very simple process. For the Active Directory integration you will need the Process Manager licenses as well. For form for the request is easily designed within the product and then with the process flow you can design in the if conditions to take different actions based on the software license being available or not.
