I am trying out the application blacklist functionality on our K1000 server, but so far I am unsuccessful in getting it to work.  I have followed the instructions in the following link to set it up properly:


I have marked a test application as Not Allowed in the Software Catalog, applied the ApplicationControlDevices label on a test machine, Forced Inventory the machine for good measure, then when I go to open the application in question it opens without issues.  Is there possibly something that I am missing that is preventing this to work properly?

  • Which application are you testing the feature on?
    • I'm testing it on "CCleaner 5.x" in the Software Catalog.
  • OK, just gone through the manual and set everything exactly as described in both the Admin guide and the KB article that you stated. I am having no success either, we are running version 6.3.113399. I have just gone through the latest support bulletin and there is nothing of note in there. I would suggest you log this one with support to see what they say
  • Actually scratch that, just went to start my outlook and it was blacklisted, so all working. Download the admin guide follow the steps, give it half an hour and if it doesn't work, contact support ;o)
    • Actually, I gave it some time as well and it is now working properly. Patience is not a virtue I possess! :P

All Resolved then, follow the process in the admin guide and allow KACE enough time to put everything in place ;o)
