Hello,

I am new to the software. Pardon my naivety.

I am curious about an API exposed by KACE to perform CRUD operations on inventory, assets management and possibly service desk. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Jeremy

  • Thank you both for your input. I am checking out that admin guide now.

To answer your question Jbr31, there are various tasks I need to perform against this data in an automated fashion.

    1. For one, I need to create service desk tickets.
    2. I will likely need to add inventory/associate a new piece of equipment with an existing owner.
    3. Will need to subscribe to some service desk ticket events like created, edited, deleted, etc.

Read access to this data has proven to be quite straight-forward. It is write ability that I am having trouble with.

    Thanks.

There is an API. I don't know that it's going to do everything you want it to though.

If you look at the Administrator Guide, chapter 7 is about adding devices using the API. It's also in the built-in help.
Here is the link to it: https://support.software.dell.com/k1000-systems-management-appliance/release-notes-guides
