k2000 usb boot and connect to the appliance

Hi,

I'm looking for a method to make a k2000 bootable usb key that checks in with the k2000 to reimage the drive. Is that possible with the k2000?

Thanks,

Mike

This is a default function.

You need to create a KBE like for a PXE boot (include the network and storage driver for the questioned system(s) )

Then download it from the KACE as USB image and boot from that stick.

It does not matter if you pxe or usb boot to the kbox to automatically reimage, just schedule that task ahead of boot in the systems tab.

  • you can even put the whole image on the USB key if you wanted...

If you click your KBE, you first have to click the checkbox before the 5th option to download a bootable USB image will appear.  It will download a bunch of files zipped up, just unzip them to a folder and then click the installer.
