I'm trying to practice a kbox restore from a backup file of a live kbox server which is a physical box to a VM kbox server I have running in a development network. It doesn't even start.  

The error message I get on the console from the VM server is;

"Version in backup (70402) is different from the current K1000 version (90545).  Restore from backup terminated"

Just wondering if this possible and I need to tweak something or because of design since they are different boxes (physcial/VM versions of Kace 1000).

Both servers are updated to the 5.5 version.

    Could be, I just installed the latest VM and did the upgrade to the live server before Thanksgiving. I guess the newest download of 5.5 has the hotfix rolled in already?

    I'll run the Hot-fix Patch for 5.5 live server later, get the backup and try to apply it to the VM tomorrow. Will report back after that.

do you have them both at the same hot fix level also?
