K1000 5.5 WSUS integration absent

Hey KACE users,

Am I the only one who saw (in the KACE blog I believe) that the 5.5 version of the K1000 was going to have integration with WSUS for patching purposes? I saw that and was really looking forward to the best of both worlds, KACE + WSUS together.

However I've upgraded to 5.5 and any mention of WSUS is missing. Did they decide not to include it and just quietly remove the feature...and the blog post because that's amazingly disappeared to I think.

The K1000 upgrade page says "Patching enhancements" but I can't see any settings that werent there before.

Cheers.

What has been added in 5.5 is the full patching catalog that is found in WSUS, not integration of WSUS itself.

  • Oh. Slightly disappointed then. What I love about WSUS is simply being able to tick boxes for what products you want patches for. What I love about KACE is the PC restart control and warning boxes etc. Neither of the 2 has both. I really struggle to get the patches I want in KACE. I was using for it for while then used WSUS to do a bit of detection and most PC's needed 150 updates I had missed. It's just a bit too hit 'n miss.

    Oh well, there's always 5.6 :) - twit 10 years ago
    • Yeah Kace is missing patches even though they are active on many machines in my environment. 5.5 Update saw no fix for this so I too am a bit miffed. - petelanglois 10 years ago
