Is an MST needed in this situation?

If you have an MSI and you just want to take all the defaults, there is no reason to build an MST, correct? I mean if you use "/qb!", that will force all defaults for the MSI, correct?

If you just want the defaults then just call the MSI with a /QB or /QB! ... the defaults are used...

Transforms are used if you want to make a change... since no change is need, no transform is needed

not entirely accurate..

if you are using /qb! you are dropping the installUiSequence as such you may have some "defaults" set in there which are no longer set in your quiet mode installation.

so although gmorgan was right there is a little more to it.

Might be beneficial to include a transform which has LIMITUI=1 and/or ALLUSERS=1 (depending upon your install requirements/situation)
