Internet Explorer not shown on comp info page

What is all of the search criteria to find each version of IE on machines?

I notice that some machines that have IE installed don't show it under Installed Software in Kace. No "Windows Internet Explorer", no "Microsoft Internet Explorer", no "Internet Explorer". If I run an advanced search, it will return machines with certain versions, but when I click into and view the properties of those machines, there is no mention of IE under Installed Software. On older versions of Kace, older versions of IE used to be visible. I don't know if the change is due to Kace upgrades or changes in IE, though I lean toward IE in this... situation.

I'm not sure how accurate the reporting is if I can't see that it's actually installed on a given machine.

We used the kb number to find versions, but you can also create a custom software inventory that reads the version from the registry.

  • The drop off is due to the OS and intigration of IE into the OS. - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago
