install old NT compatible app on 2000

I want to install an old app on Win2000, and the install appears to be made with an old version of installshield. The installation fails stating it must be installed on NT4 or later. It obviously does not know about Win2000.

Are there a command line options or setup.ini entries I can try to force the install on Win2000?

Open the MSI in Orca and check the LaunchConditions and AppSearch tables.

Not possible. This is an OLD app (1998) using what appears to be version 3? and it does not have an .MSI. The files are setup.exe, setup.ini, setup.ins, setup.pkg, *.bin.

Then I'm wondering why it is you've posted in a forum entitled 'Windows Installer Errors'...
Wouldn't an InstallShield forum be a better place?

Absolutely. Is there one here? I could not find one.

I am running into an error trying to install the application, and I was hoping someone from the community could help.

This http://community.installshield.com/ is what I had in mind :)
