Install files inside user component
Hello!
I am wondering if is it possible to install files using the MSI's user component. And how should I configure the file?
Thank you

I'm pretty sure all you need to do is install the file to the USERPROFILE directory (or similar), make the file component keypath a HKCU reg entry. I believe it's a good idea to create a new feature for this component, then make this feature a parent of all others, so that when the feature comes to be repaired, it will only 'repair' your user-specific files.
There's a useful basic explanation of self-repair here.
PS You'll need the application to be launched by an advertised entry point (ie advertised shortcut).
