I need an advise
Here is my situation.
I have a Mcafee patch that I need to deploy. It's a .msp file. During the installation of this patch, it stops and restarts the service and this is a problem for our VPN users. There is a rule in the VPN to check for anti virus program. If it does not see a anti virus program, it will drop the user.
I can supress the reboot but this still does not fix the issue because the msp file stops and restarts the service during the installation and VPN users gets dropped.
Any expert advise on how I can get around this problem? I can't even edit this .msp file since it's not a .msi.
Help!

Deployment_tech,
If it were me and the main problem was the VPN connection being terminated then I would create an install that copies the MSP to the local computer. I would then create a script that runs after the MSP is copied. This script would check for the VPN process. If the process is running then nothing happens. The script keeps watching. If the process is not running then call and run the MSP from the local desktop then your watch script can end.
