How to tell if machines are VM's with a smart label?

What's the best (reliable) method - when using a smart label - to determine if a machine is virtual? Need to deploy some software to VM's only.

Thanks

If you are using the Label editor, there is a "Is virtual" choice.
It detects Hyper-V, VMWARE, KVM and a few other virtual clients, Virtual Box is not recognized.

  • Label editor - If referring to the smart labels, where do you see that option? I've only found the option in the first dropdown for "Virtual device", but no option in that dropdown or the second for "Is virtual".

If it's not a smart label option, where is the label editor you mentioned? - murbot 6 years ago
