How to run EXE after install
hi
I need to run an exe file after the msi finish installing.
I tried to do a custom action but the problem is that the msi package is still running, therefor the exe can't run.
any idea's.
I use wise package studio.

Lots of different ways I'm sure, but I would create a vbs (or batch file etc.) with the command to run the exe, then put the vbs in the deployment tool, and set it to run 'after installation'.

Is the EXE installed by the package? If so, WPS has the action 'Execute EXE from installed files' which should be placed in the Execute Immediate sequence after the InstallFinalize action.

hi,
u did not tell weather u want the exe to run after the insatallation is completed or during the instalaltion.
i it is during installtion u can do as sid above .
else there is way be setting the run registry key making the system to reboot
