Software Deployment

Hey guys,

Sorry if this comes out all jumbled and confusing, but despite my reading and searches, I don't know exactly what i'm asking for...

I've been doing all of the software package creation and deployment for my company for about a year now. All of my knowledge is self-acquired, and I have no official schooling or training in either of these areas...

I've been using RapidInstall 3.2 to create all of my packages, and Altiris Deployment Server 6.8 to deploy them. I manage roughly 600 machines, in 20 classrooms. The software ranges from 3dsMax to AutoCad to the Adobe Suites, etc...

I absolutely LOVE RapidInstall - with one problem. The 2gb size limit. Any time I try to create a RIP that contains more than 2gb of additions, it goes corrupt. It appears this is a known limit with the software. Fair enough.

What I love about the progam is that it lets me configure the software EXACTLY how I want before capturing the RIP. For example, I can install Photoshop, download and install the updates, register it, then go into the software and turn off automatic updates, the pop up activation, and set the color space defaults in ACR, THEN capture the RIP.

It's beautiful.


So, I was wondering if there is a piece of software out there that functions in the same way as RapidInstall, but without the size limit?

Anyone?
