Gifts 6.0.

Hi All,

I am trying to package Gifts 6.0. It is a server install as in a lot of the application files reside on the server and are used as necessary by the application whenever needed. For a single machine install I run an exe on the server and select local install and carry on as normal. After creating the package in testing when the users try to create a report using a tab in the application(it starts up fine) I get an error message that it cannot find the file on the server, gift.exe, which IS on the server. This does not happen with the sources. All the paths are correct in the MSI but it just wont find it. Has anyone come across this before or can anyone offer any help please. Gifts my ars.....

Thanks in advance

hi,
have you checked if the containing feature of the exe and the server files use the favor source option?
check also the source path names of the files

Hi Rick,

Thanks for reply. The files on the server are independant of the package and the users will be in an app group created by AD. Shortcuts are created by the MSI and they use files on the server for functionality. Most of the paths are in the INI file which are correct and also in the AppPath registry. It finds the main exe but cannot locate other files from the same directory. Not sure if the favor source option is relevant here but I may be missing something?

Cheers
