Getting the kace agent executable or msi
Hi guys,
How do I get the kace agent msi or exe.
All I seem to be able to download from the
dell support is the Kbin file.
Anyway I can extract an executable from the Kbin.
Thanks folks.

You can get the MSI for the agent from the client share on your appliance, e.g. \\k1000\client\. Browse to the agent provisioning folder to get the agent for the OS required.
The kbin file from support is used to update the appliance with the latest version of the client.

The thing is.... I want to get the MSI, BEFORE uploading the KBIN to the k1000. Cos I want to deploy the agent strictly via group policy.
Is there a way to get it without having to go through
the hoops of uploading to kace first?
Thanks Chuck. - akmagnum 8 years ago-
If you don't turn on agent provisioning then the appliance won't deploy it. As far as I know there isn't a way to get the agent otherwise. - chucksteel 8 years ago

I agree with Chuck. To me, you could install the .kbin but not enable the new agent within Agent Update Settings. Then you could get the .msi from your client share, - rockhead44 8 years ago

no, you need to upload it to the KACE appliance.
The upload itself does not mean that it will be deployed to any system.
You can also go to Settings > Provsioning > Agent Update, where you also upload the agent bundle, and click to the agent you need.
If the agent is already deployed to a machine you should use this feature to let the KACE update the agent by checking Activated and All Devices.
