Excel Plugin

Hi Folks,
I have this problem. I need to install plugin in Excel. Installation works fine but coming to the uninstall there is a file remaining after uninstalling the plugin. My idea is to put a custom action. Can anyone help me in this issue?

- Create a RemoveFile component
- Add the file to the RemoveFile table
- Set the InstallMode to '2' (Remove on uninstall)

I do hope your package isn't using the registry's 'Open' value to add the add-in but uses a script using Excel Automation....

Maybe you should put "- Use Excel Automation" in your signature as you say it so often ;o)

@VBScab, yes sir, my package uses 'Open' value to add the add-in . After uninstall and launching the excel, it displays error that C:Program Files/Excel Addin/Excel Addin.xll can no be found. Please check the path.

Did you read my post fully? Using the 'Open' registry entry is the wrong approach. You should be using a script-calling Custom Action which uses Excel Automation. Use AppDeploy's Search facility to find a couple of scripts to add & remove add-ins.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
