Event error log on repair
Hi there
I have packaged Real Player 10.5 using Wise Package Studio 6 (setup capture). I have installed it, and it runs normally other that an error that appears in the application event log:
Error 1
Detection of product '{0DE977BB-70C9-4D0E-83D5-CF2F61047645}', feature 'Complete', component '{D95F1A42-171B-4135-B2FF-6D1570E66E8E}' failed. The resource 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RealNetworks\Msg\Preferences\AudioAlert\' does not exist
The product GUID {0DE977BB-70C9-4D0E-83D5-CF2F61047645} refers to RealPlayer and the component GUI {D95F1A42-171B-4135-B2FF-6D1570E66E8E} refers to "category.dat" which consists of two files category.dat and scategory.dat which reside in "Windows\Profiles\Application Data\Real\Msg\".
The key path is a HKCU entry (to avoid any ICE38 and ICE57 errors) which is "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RealNetworks\Msg\Preferences\AudioAlert\".
I have checked both the files and the registry entry and they do appear ok following the installation but I cannot determine why the error should appear.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi orionuk,
you are chasing useless things here. You can delete this stuff, because this user specific keys and files are created on the fly, when a user starts RP for the first time.
Please check the Appdeploy KB-page for Realplayer:
http://itninja.com/link/realplayer-knowledge-base-home
There you find many usefull tips for this "very special piece of software".
Regards, Nick
