Can we add additional date fields within the helpdesk tickts?

Nope. You can only add 15 custom fields, and each one has to be one of three types: text, single-select, multi-select.

A text field is stored as a string and can look an awful lot like a date field and can even be used in date comparisons (for reports and rules) since mysql will automatically cast a date-looking string into a timestamp. It just has to be in the format of YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS

All three types text, single-select, multi-select are stored as strings. There is an enhancement request existing about a calendar picker type field. Open a support ticket to have your vote heard.

I use the YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format in a text field, but I have a feeling the OP is looking for a date chooser.

You don't really want the current type of date chooser that the KBox has anyway. I sure hope they update their date chooser in the next version...
