Hi experts,

I am new to this tool.
I am having the problem with custom Installation.
The scenario is like this,
I have one application which is installing services.
I created the MSI but it is not giving me option for custom installation.
But my client requirement is to get custom installation option.

Please help me in this regard.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
A V Herur

Hi,

I totally new to this packaging technology and this Installshield tool.

Custom Installation means: the option we get for selecting the directory while installaing an application.

I've not used Installshield! But I'm guessing like that if you create an msi from scratch you'll get a standard set of dialogs.

What exactly did you do to create your msi

As Richard (timmsie) says, there will be a standard set of dialogs built by IS. You'll need to select that that dialog (probably called 'Single Feature Destination' or something similar) is used. I can't recall where in the IS UI the Dialog Editor is, but once there, you just need to check the option to have it appear in the UI sequence.

You can find the 'Destination Folder' dialog in the Dialog section. All you have to do is, you need to insert the dialog in the required UI sequence.
