Custom action rolls back the msi

Currently working on VMware Horizon Client View.I need to package this application and this is an exe and when I extract it, it gives me an msi.

However, this msi simply does not install. It rollsback in between of installation.Checked the logs and there is a custom action(that is installing USB driver)

which rolls back the msi.In the source as well (i.e. setup.exe), it calls msi.Not able to understand how exe gets installed perfectly fine and msi is not working

at all.Any inputs are appreciated.Thanks.

Enable MSI logging - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300 - and run the setup.exe and install.

You'll find a log file in %temp%, as detailed on the link.

There'll be a 'command line' entry in the log which will show you what commands have been passed to msiexec by setup.exe. That might shed some light on what the MSI needs when run on its own to install correctly.

Hope that helps,

Dunnpy
