Copernic
Has anyone packaged copernic entrprise edition? It is a standard msi, which i can install silently with no problems. Where the problem is though is when the user first runs the program it asks for a bunch of configuration options. I have tried running a registry/file capture program to see what changes are taking place but it is quite messy. I know that in a corporate environment they recommend using GPOs and they provide an adm file to set this configuration options. The place I work at though refuses to use the GPO so I have to come up with another way to configure these options.

The corporate version is in an .msi format and it's settings are controlled through an administrative template. I had the same issue where this was not an option because we do not use custom adm templates to control software settings. The standard version is in an executable format, and you can pass certain command line parameters to control what is turned on/off. I used this version and created a blank msi project, created a CA to handle the installation of the executable, and a rollback CA to do the removal of the product when the msi is uninstalled.
