I use Wise. It has this feature built into it.

I've use the verbose log to compare the installation of the msi and compare the two.

Installshield has a tool for this called as MSIPackageDiff.


It will compare any MSI to some Base MSI and will give the difference as new table\deleted tables along with new columns\deleted columns.

If I have done the two MSI-packages myself I want to Merge, I compare the two .irp-files that InstallShiled Repackager has generated, and makes one file containing the differents from both.

Also Scriptlogic Installer Design Studio have a built-in function to compare 2 MSI logically marking the differences of the 2 in tables.
