Can you compare program lists of 2 computers

We have the K1000 here at work. We have a base image we use and push through Kace, but because there are over 44000 different pieces of software used throughout our corporation (depending on department) they can't all be included in the image. When we replace a computer we have to be sure that all of the software that was on the old PC gets installed on the new.

Is there a way to compare two computers? Computer A has this program list. Computer B has this computer list. This is the difference between them.

My goal, ultimately, is to have a list of programs that differ between the two. It would make my life so much easier.

  • Yes you could do that! I completed a research project that uses unsupervised data mining techniques to do exactly what you want. The process requires direct db access, and a php server; there are a couple of steps involved. I would be willing to show it to you and others via a zoom session. - Jbr32 7 years ago
